Cafe Bustelo coffee can.

Just a coffee can you say??  Nope.

I’ve had this can for about 6 years.  For the last 2 years it has served as a napkin holder, but before that it held a very special purpose.  This can was the first in a series of containers that I received from a friend in Oregon.  He was sending precious cargo that needed to be air-tight, to seal in freshness… and smell.

I can remember the first batch of cargo and how happy it made me.  I shared it with my friend Irvin and I walked around SoHo with a permagrin.

I’ve stopped receiving packages from my friend in Oregon but think of him often, especially in the chilly evenings of autumn or the sunkissed days of early spring.
