Thing 220
Lego cameraman.
**Catching up on Dec 19**
I think Deana bought me this guy back in the day when I was gung-ho about becoming a DP. Â I spent many years behind a camera, first as an assistant and then as a shooter. Â I occasionally shoot now, but haven’t undertaken a “professional” DP job in years. Â I love this little guy, especially his handlebar mustache. Â I think there he had a hat, but that’s long gone. Â And the camera takes “film”, ACTUAL “FILM”, so you know this is from a long time ago. Â I miss shooting. Â Editing is awesome, but the balance of being inside cutting and outside shooting keeps me sane.
Thing 219
West Elm desk chair.
**Catching up on Dec 19**
I think we bought this chair in 2005. Â We actually purchased the model without arms, but they sent us this one. Â At first we were psyched because we received a more expensive chair…and with arms! Â However, we very quickly found out that there was a design flaw with the West Elm desk/ chair combo that we bought- the arms don’t fit under the desk, so they keep bumping into it, which is really annoying. Â By the time we figured this out it seemed like more of a hassle to return the chair, so we bit the bullet and kept it. Â My love affair with this chair is way over.
Thing 218
Mug from the Wilshire Grand Hotel in LA.
**Catching up on Dec 19**
I snatched this mug from a conference room at the LA Wilshire Grand Hotel.  On a video job, we were shooting in a conference room at the Grand, and they left a tray of mugs for us to use for coffee, etc.  At the end of the day they had taken away most of the food, but left the mugs.  I thought it would make a nice souvenir.
