Beaded bracelet.

I’m actually writing this post on December 16th.  I have a LOT of catching up to do.  With Lucinda’s arrival, Anabelle’s flu, Deana’s cold, Lucinda’s cold and my work things have been a bit busy.

The story behind the bracelet is simple.  One of Anabelle’s friends had a birthday party in November and one of the crafts offered was beading.  My friend Dylan and I each made a bracelet and entered into a contest to see who could keep it on the longest.  Well, I must not have tied mine tight enough because it fell of within a week.  I’m pretty sure I lost.  Although last time I saw Dylan I don’t think he was wearing a bracelet…. I’ll have to inquire.

Pewter Viking ship keychain.

I love this little keychain, but I hate having anything in my pockets.  I don’t keep my phone in my pocket, I don’t keep my wallet in my pocket and I certainly don’t keep my keys in my pocket.  So I really have no use for this anymore.  It’s been hanging on a hook by our front door for about 2 years and I haven’t touched it, so I’m asking the ship to set sail out of my world….

Pearl Jam Live at the Garden DVD.

This was a gift from my friends Jill and Chris for being the best man at their wedding.

Let it be known, the only reason I’m getting rid of this is because I have another copy.  And that copy is most likely NOT going to end up as a “thing”.

I’ve been a die-hard Pearl Jam fan since 1991.  I’ve seen them over 35 times.  I will continue to listen to this band even if they put out an album of Ed reading the yellow pages.

This DVD is the entire Madison Square Garden show from July 8, 2003 (night one of two).  The band was on the Riot Act tour and playing at an intense level.  I attended this night and the next, and the energy in the Garden was off the charts.  The band ripped through a fantastic set list, delivering one of the most electrifying versions of Rearviewmirror I have ever seen live.  And Ben Harper joined in on Daughter, trading chorus lines with Ed and slipping into My Two Hands.  Incredible.

I’ve seen Pearl Jam many times since that night in July, but this show was special.  I had a lot going on in my life during this period and am grateful for the emotional security and strength Pearl Jam gave me.

I’ll be one of the guys going to Pearl Jam shows until the band breaks up, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Cafe Bustelo coffee can.

Just a coffee can you say??  Nope.

I’ve had this can for about 6 years.  For the last 2 years it has served as a napkin holder, but before that it held a very special purpose.  This can was the first in a series of containers that I received from a friend in Oregon.  He was sending precious cargo that needed to be air-tight, to seal in freshness… and smell.

I can remember the first batch of cargo and how happy it made me.  I shared it with my friend Irvin and I walked around SoHo with a permagrin.

I’ve stopped receiving packages from my friend in Oregon but think of him often, especially in the chilly evenings of autumn or the sunkissed days of early spring.

Bad Education DVD.

Almodovar!!!

I have to admit, I purchased this from Blockbuster in a 3 for $10 sale, so don’t be mislead by the $12.99 price tag.

I also have to admit that I’ve never watched it.  I really love the films of Almodovar but I was over-zealous in buying this.  But that was back when I had “pocket money”.

Oh how times have changed…
