Dogville DVD.

Lars Von Trier is an incredible artist and director.  He pushes boundaries and challenges society’s perceptions of normal.  Dogville is a beautiful example of that, and an inspiring cinematic experience.  I’ve only watched it once, but once was enough.  The cast is incredible, the story is heartbreaking and the filmmaking is extraordinary.

Dogville makes me sad that I’m not involved in motion pictures anymore.

The Trigger Effect DVD.

I never got to watch this movie, given to me by my friend Steven.

I’m a big fan of Kyle MacLachlan, especially with my renewed interest (and first-time viewing) of Twin Peaks.  He’s amazing in that series.

Elisabeth Shue is pretty awesome as well.

Scrooged DVD.

Man, I love Bill Murray.

This movie is a classic comedy from the late 80’s.  It’s one I could watch over and over again on HBO, or in syndication.  It never gets old.

I took this from Consulate when they were getting rid of a bunch of DVDs they used for a rip.  I have only watched it once or twice since then (if that), so it’s time to make room and let go.

“Catching Fire” by Suzanne Collins.  The Second Book of THE HUNGER GAMES.

Our friend Abigail sent us all three books of The Hunger Games, which I had heard of but quickly dismissed as another pop-culture fad of entertainment.  My mom read the trilogy and loved it.  Abigail loved it.  There was a movie coming out.  Ugh.  The last thing I wanted to do was read these books.

Deana read the first one rather quickly, and after listening to her description of the story I thought I could jump in and plow through these and enjoy myself.  It might also make me a little more culturally plugged in, which is helpful for a father of two young people.

I enjoyed the first two books, and am slowly getting into the third and final book (newborn hours don’t help the situation).  In the end, I’m glad I’m reading the trilogy.

Abigail does not want books two and three back, so I’m going to pass them along.  Let me know if you are interested.

Kenneth Cole sneakers.

These were a long time favorite of mine, especially in the fall and summer.  I had a great pair of lightweight pants that went really well with these.  However, I’m no longer in love with them, so I’m letting them go.
